This process is actually pretty basic and it involves the introduction of the materials that are required to make the product. The moulding machine consists of a barrel, which is heated and it is equipped with a reciprocating screw. The reciprocating screw is driven by a motor, which will either be electric or hydraulic. This motorized screw feeds the molten polymer into the split mould, which is temperature controlled and this is done through a channel system of gates and runners. The reciprocating screw melts the polymer as well as acting as a ram during the phase when it is injected. The friction of the screw against the polymer creates additional heat and this helps to create the required dimensions for the product.
